Investments in mutual funds needn’t always be sector-wise or plain equity v debt or plain equity. There exists another category called “thematic funds” which rise above all the other considerations and are based purely on a particular theme which among others could include factors such as commodity-exposure, multisector, etc. Their scope being very broad, they are often mistaken for sector funds and given their very definition, their scope can be quite wide.
